METHODOLOGY: A 25 minutes live radio program is aired every Saturday. Several issues are discussed each week and the listeners may pose their questions by telephone, broadcasting their answers. Likewise, listeners may participate expressing their opinions or comments in connection with the social and political issues of the epidemic in our country.
RESULTS: During the last year, 48 programs have been aired and included the following topics: means of transmission, prevention mechanisms, condom use, risk management, vulnerability to HIV, concept of prevention in the MSM population, safer sex, STD, opportunistic diseases, antiretroviral and complementary therapies, among others. Approximately 30 inquiries from the listeners were answered. The majority of the questions were related with situations they were confronting, either in connection with the risk of being infected with HIV or with the situation of having to live with HIV.
CONCLUSIONS: We have noted an increase in the number of listeners that consult each week, many of which do not dare to be aired. The intention is to maintain the radio program, implementing live conversation groups with the participation of the program team, individuals involved in prevention work and listeners who wish to participate in the studio.
