Synthesis A group of 12 women from Lomas de Zamora, was formed to participate in a Social Program' Neighborhoods",dealing with HIV/AIDS. Along the training period, there were 30 meetings that took the form of seminars. The second stage of the program consisted of doing a survey of the area to obtain the characteristics of the area. In the third stage, a poll was made. It served a double purpose: it enabled the collection of data and allowed the participants of the group to inform the neighbors abut the work being done. Finally, several open meetings were organized in institutions or in the house of the participants. Goals Form a group of women that can work together with the purpose of transmitting the information received along the training period to the neighbors of their area. Inform basic knowledge about AIDS.

CONCLUSIONS: The conclusions of this program are based on the observation of the differences to be found along the training programs and the response of the community. These were women who were not in any process of education at the time. At the beginning, these women came without any care regarding their personal appearance and showed that they perceived a very low value of their roles in their families or in the group itself. But along the program, a significant turnaround had to occur, so that the participant who started being just a "cleaning woman" could turn into a woman who was studying, learning, reading and even being able to teach topics concerning the family, sexuality and femininity. The program awakened curiosity, the pulsion, the crave for learning. And to a revision of their roles. With respect to the wider effect on the community, my conclusion is that the information is now there, but disorganized, so that it cannot be used to its full extent. The participants worked as a link between the community and the health center, them being neighbors of the area and facilitating access to the information.
