In this work, we introduce the preliminary conclusions of the training experience, wich began in the last six months, to prevent the sexual transmission of AIDS to the health crew who work in health basic care around the different health areas of Santa Fe in Argentina. The sanction in 1996 of the Provincial law n? 11.460, opened a new space for the development of prevention, tasks training and the comdons distribution. Nevertheless, the structure of training is done since June of 2001 by the distribution of comdons all around the province according to this law.

METHOD: The objective of the training is to give implements to work on the use of comdons and the prevention of AIDS. It was developed through 3 modules on HIV-AIDS and prevention, sexuality and epidemiologic vigilance. On each module a brief introduction is done and a watchword for then make a common setting where the operative and elemental concepts are re evaluated, just like myths, prejudices and fears.

RESULTS: 434 agents were trained: 60 health chief (most of them doctors), 8 chief of Programmatic Areas (they are doctors and/or nurses), 103 nurses, 122 sanitary agents, 9 social workers, 146 doctors, and 33 as pharmacists, dentists, psychologists). The Health Zones trained, up to know, were 4 out of 8 in the province.

CONCLUSIONS: According to what was shown on each Health Zone we reached the following preliminaries conclusions that will let us give a new view to the training process: that HIV-AIDS is not a daily attention matter in the health basic care centers; That the prevention and promotion tasks of the health are not a part of rutine of labour of these health basic care centers; That the health crew manifest rejection, in a different way, to approach the HIV-AIDS; The training need to be developed in a continual way; The training in HIV-AIDS in mostly directed to the medical crew that work at hospitals of average and high complexity.
