DESCRIPTION: In 1999 Governmental Agency (Servicio de Salud Vina del Mar-Quillota), invite NGO (Corporacion Chilena de Prevencion del Sida), to work together in educational program of HIV counsellors formation, with an special complementary vision, more than the biomedical focus about VIH prevention, prevailing in health organisations. Because the favourable reception, next year both organisations present a project to get resources for the strengthening of counsellors network. ISSUES: -Better relations between both organisations, expressed in well co-ordinated team for current projects. -More projects presented about prevention, participation in intersectorial network. -24 people trained in courses with 100% of attendance. -75% of participants qualified with highest marks. -20.8% of the persons trained, (from assistance volunteer organisation), disapprove the course.

RECOMMENDATIONS: 1) This kind of courses require considerate the mission and the model of work of each organisation that sends participants. 2) Is necessary to define special criterion for the selection of candidates, in order to improve the use of acquired skills. 3) A fact of great significance is to incorporate up to date activities in any planning of works. A new model of training must be designed, as a result of currently combined research project about the experiences and outcomes of all courses to carry out.
