Commemoration of The Worldwide Day of AIDS in Arica.

ISSUES: Sensitization of Arica community about HIV/AIDS through activities performed by people living with HIV/AIDS.

DESCRIPTION: This project meant to perform four mass events to reach Arica community, specially gay people. Our objectives was to sensitize them about the problems faced by people living with HIV. We performed a program address to the community, specially young people and old people took part in it. Also, we met local governmental representatives, health care professionals, written and visual media journalists.

ISSUES: We could make the community get interested about HIV/AIDS, we could made them aware about the risk to get HIV if we do not take preventive strategies. In this activities we emphasized the use of condom as effective protection.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Taking into account this experience, we realize our PWA's organization have to strengthen our links with Arica community, in order to promote HIV prevention and sensitize about discrimination suffer by people living with HIV
