ISSUES: treatment and care of STD and its relevance in HIV expansion control and prevention

DESCRIPTION: Conscious of the relevance of HIV problematic, a small group of health, social assistant professionals and volunteers gathered to give a response in relation to HIV prevention, giving assistance, orientation, care and treatment in a solidarity, confidential, non discriminatory and anonymous way to the community. Through a phone counseling (AIDS HOTLINE) it is evaluated risk factors of the eventual clients, making if needed the date for attention by specialist in STD.

ISSUES: 952 clients were assisted, 450 in relation to STD and 502 in relation to HIV

RECOMMENDATIONS: This kind community service is an important instrument as an HIV infection preventive tool, regarding our economical resource we will continue this service and improve our statistical systematization
