Primary Teacher, Mpwapwa, Tanzania
ISSUES: In our country Tanzania there are big number of Aids orphans. Many of these they are aged of being in Primary school, and they are suppossed to pay for school fees etc. DISCRIPTION: I am Primary Teacher in my country (Tanzania). Unfortunatelly I get some pupils who are aids orphans: They do not have money for various needs including school fees, to buy uniforms etc. Among of them, before death of thier parents they was cleaver. But now their classes performance are poor. I think because of embarassment from the school manageent about fees, also finger points from another pupils that they are Aids orphans. I think they feel bad. LESOON LEARNED: Young people they do not have completely education about HIV/AIDS (those who are HIV+/HIV-, even aids orphans. Also ather teachers and school management staff they don't have enough education on HIV/AIDS. RECOMMANDATION: HIV/AIDS subjects should be teached to our schools/colleges (from nursery school up to high education collages). Those concerned teachers should be given this education and practise on that in detail.
