Enrollment

Contact the Early Intervention Programs for an application at (360) 236-3426 or toll free from within Washington State 1-800-376-9316. Applications may also be obtained through your local health department, community clinic, or AIDS service organization. We help clients get medical insurance and pay the premiums. For clients with insurance or Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Plan), we help pay co-pay costs for medications on our formulary. Clients may have a cost share (see below). If you have Medicare, you must enroll in a Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Plan) or have insurance as good as or better than a Medicare Part D plan. If you are eligible for assistance, we can pay DSHS Medicaid Spenddown up to $900 per month.

You must receive services through an EIP approved provider (Excel file download)

  • HIV positive
  • Washington Resident
  • May be a recipient of Medicaid and have Medicare
  • May be a recipient of Medicaid and on Spend Down

Financial Eligibility

Income at or below 300% of the current Federal Poverty Level (Word document download). Up to 370% if you were a client before September 1, 2002.

Cost Share for Clients without Insurance

  • From 0% - 100% FPL - $0 Cost Share
  • From 101% - 150% FPL- $20 Cost Share
  • From 151% - 200% FPL - $40 Cost Share
  • From 201% - 250% FPL - $60 Cost Share
  • From 251% - 300% FPL - $70 Cost Share
  • If you were a client before September 1, 2002, Federal Poverty Level maximum income limit is up to 370% and your cost share from 301% - 370% is $80

Cost Share for Clients with Insurance

  • From 0% - 100% FPL - $0 Cost Share
  • From 101% - 150% FPL - $15 Cost Share
  • From 151% - 300% FPL - $20 Cost Share
  • If you were a client before September 1, 2002, Federal Poverty Level maximum income limit is up to 370% and your cost share from 301% - 370% is $25

Medical Care

  • For clients with insurance, we cover annual deductibles up to $1,000 and costs during pre-existing condition periods for services on our schedule of covered services. Clients must go to providers and labs that contract with us
  • For clients without insurance, we pay for limited HIV-related provider visits and tests for service on our schedule of covered services. Clients must go to providers and labs that contract with us
